Physics
Description
Physicists often study realms most people rarely think of in daily life - yet the phenomena they discover are usually affecting each of us even without our awareness. At UC Merced, researchers in physics are working to find out how extremely small particles could be used for the future of computing; how the laws of physics apply inside the human body and its cells; and how the patterns known as fractals can help us understand the complex, "chaotic" systems of nature.
